MASHERY TEAMS WITH WEBMETRICS TO COUPLE
API MANAGEMENT PLATFORM
WITH WEB SERVICES MONITORING
Leader in Web Services Management Now Publishes
API Performance Data to Customers
San Diego - November 16, 2007 - Webmetrics, a leading provider of web performance monitoring solutions, today announced that Mashery, a leading provider of solutions to help companies build, promote, support and manage access to Web Services and data, has selected its GlobalWatch Services to complement its performance monitoring capabilities. Under the relationship, Webmetrics works with Mashery’s monitoring services to continually test, measure and publish availability and performance statistics for its MasheryPro platform customers’ unique developer community sites and Web Services.
“Since we are intimately tied to the API, there is a significant value to Mashery, our customers and their developers in externally monitoring the performance of Web Services,” said Oren Michels, CEO and co-founder of Mashery. “By teaming with Webmetrics to monitor our customers’ APIs, we can continually validate the availability and response time of their Web Services, which is vitally important as API adoption and usage scales.”
With thousands of APIs and mashup applications currently available, companies are providing and consuming Web Services in record numbers. Mashery provides an API Management Platform with all of the components required for companies to define and publish an API to scale with growing traffic, while also maintaining their own company’s look and feel. Mashery’s API Management Platform provides usage/access management, tracking, metrics, commerce, performance optimization and developer/community tools in a pre-packaged, hosted solution, so that companies can dedicate their own engineering resources and capital to building their core software, products and services.
Mashery is utilizing GlobalWatch Services to help with monitoring its clients’ developer community sites and APIs, to validate availability and measure response times against defined client objectives. Mashery is also using the Webmetrics Widget to assist with displaying real-time performance data about each of those assets within its customer portal. Webmetrics GlobalWatch for Web Services is a SaaS (Software as a Service), which externally validates the uptime, speed and delivery of discreet Web Services or complex Web Service Transactions.
“Mashery is at the forefront of the Web 2.0 movement, having built a turn-key solution that uniquely addresses the challenges associated with provisioning and managing APIs,” said Peter Kirwan, Chief Strategy Officer for Webmetrics. “Our companies share a common vision for helping simplify the management of multi-partner ecosystems, and we are thrilled to have partnered with Mashery in the delivery of performance monitoring services that further enhance their API Management Platform.”
