WEBMETRICS INTRODUCES GLOBALWATCH WIDGET FOR PUBLISHING
LIVE WEB PERFORMANCE DATA
New Widget Exposes Performance of Web Applications and
Services
San Diego – September 11, 2007 – Webmetrics, a leading provider of
collaborative monitoring solutions for enterprise web ecosystems, has introduced
the GlobalWatch Widget, a flexible and easy way for GlobalWatch Monitoring
customers to share real-time performance data with internal and external service
users. Utilizing the GlobalWatch Widget, companies can automatically publish key
monitoring metrics captured by Webmetrics, extending performance visibility to
service internal stakeholders while promoting independent validation of service
speed and quality to customers and partners. The GlobalWatch Widget is a free
enhancement now available to all Webmetrics’ monitoring users.
“Web oriented architectures have ushered a new set of requirements for how web
applications and services are managed,” says Peter Kirwan, Chief Strategy Office
for Webmetrics. “Our GlobalWatch Widget is a simple way for companies to expose
performance monitoring data to those that tie into their data and/or
functionality using web services. It also provides an intuitive solution for
promoting the uptime and overall integrity of customer-facing web applications.”
Using the GlobalWatch Widget, customers generate simple HTML code that can be
added to Network Operation Centers (NOCs), Intranets or publicly available web
pages to display performance data for any service monitored by Webmetrics,
including web sites, applications, web services, and streaming media. The Widget
delivers a NOC-like view of monitored services, and both displays current
service status and plots performance over the past ten monitoring samples. With
the power to implement in a matter of minutes, the GlobalWatch Widget provides a
quick to market solution that extends independent performance information to
employees, customers and partners.
The GlobalWatch Widget can be implemented for a variety of business
applications, including:
- Customer Support: Companies can implement the Widget across both
self-service support sites and call centers to provide customers and internal
first responders with a continuous view of service status. This results in
both reduced incidents of unnecessary support requests and improved customer
service levels.
- Service Validation: Widgetized performance data facilitates
operational transparency within an organization, and between service providers
and customers. Internally, management can validate that IT and Web Operations
are meeting defined performance goals. Externally, customers and partners are
provided proof of quality of service from a trusted third party.
- Ecosystem Management: SaaS and commercial web service providers can
share performance data and enable collaboration between the companies that
provide web services and companies that consume them. The results are
simplified service management across vast and complex ecosystems, as well as
validation that web service and connected APIs are performing as promised.
For sophisticated data integration requirements, customers can utilize
Webmetrics’ API to create a custom reporting user interface for GlobalWatch
Monitoring data. The Webmetrics’ API is also available free of charge to all
GlobalWatch Monitoring customers.
