control the IE browser, Watir-based technologies can replicate real user
interactions, such as text entry, mouse clicks, form submissions, and mouse
gestures, and verify expected results. Watir was designed specifically for
automated testing purposes and Webmetrics has extended this open source standard
to provide an open, flexible platform for Webmetrics’ monitoring services
targeted at measuring the performance of the latest breed of rich web
applications. GlobalWatch Monitoring for RIA
supports the following:
-
Complex Javascript
-
AJAX and Web 2.0-based technologies
-
Rich media applications with sophisticated end user interaction
-
Flash, Flex and OpenLaszlo or other client-side UI applications
RIA to
provide true user performance visibility and to monitor Web 2.0 applications.
Revenue Science, Inc., which offers the most widely
adopted targeting platform for digital media, has utilized the service to
measure and validate ad performance from the real user perspective. According
to Brandon Mason, Director of Product Development for Revenue Science,
“GlobalWatch Monitoring for RIA has been
valuable in providing third party proof of how customer ads are delivered. We
didn’t really realize how useful the service could be until we saw the data. In
the ad serving / content world, getting real performance information from the
browser is vitally important.”
Webmetrics
is also building sophisticated best-of-breed test script recording and
generation technology. Customers of GlobalWatch Monitoring for RIA will be able
to quickly record transactions, generate and upload scripts to Webmetrics’
monitoring service for accelerated implementation, deployment and execution.
Webmetrics’ script recorder will be simple enough for the novice user to
