Enterprise Platform: Benchmarking

Compare your website performance with the most popular sites on the Web with the WM100 performance benchmark

WM100 Performance Benchmark

The WM100 is a performance benchmark based on the average web page load times for 100 of the most visited sites on the Internet, as reported by Alexa. For each site in the WM100, Webmetrics records both the home page HTML load time and the full-page load time (for which download times are inclusive of all images/objects on a page). The 100 pages are monitored every hour from our GlobalWatch Network, and performance comparisons are graphed/reported for monitoring customers. Page load benchmarks are updated weekly for the general public.

E-Businesses Leverage the WM100 to:
  • Determine performance standards for page load times
  • Compare website performance in relation to industry leaders
  • Gain competitive insight for web and commerce initiatives
  • Provide third party validation of website performance in relation to industry standards

The WM100 is updated every hour and is used by Webmetrics' clients as a way to compare their website performance to an industry average. From daily/weekly or web-based performance graphs, Webmetrics' clients can compare their load time to the WM100 by hour of day, day of week or worldwide cities. In short, the WM100 provides website page load averages as a useful tool for validating any particular website's performance.
