Advanced RIA Monitoring
There are many advantages to utilizing the Webmetrics RIA platform. Since our RIA platform runs on the open source technology of Watir on top of Ruby, the capabilities of your monitoring script are nearly unlimited. Below are a few customer examples that might give you ideas for how you can make the most of your RIA services:
- One customer created a RIA script that sends a specific email to their support inbox if one of their test items runs out of stock. This is useful if you desire more information about the current error page than is provided via the normal Webmetrics alert.
- Another customer was able to utilize the run script feature of Watir to force JavaScript calls to perform drag and drop functionality. This script mimicked the different onMouse events that happen when an end user drags and drops items on a web page.
- A third customer wanted to delete the users that were created from the script automatically. The only way to delete users on their system was via a web service soap API call. They were able to utilize the net calls that are built into Ruby to perform this function.
These are just a few examples of how the RIA platform can perform almost any action you want. Contact us to learn more.
Launching a New Application? Load Test for Success.
When rolling out a new application or marketing promotion, external load testing is the only way to gain real insight into what the customer experience will be upon launch, particularly if you are preparing for large numbers of users. Internal testing analyzes only your web application, but does not test the network and overall infrastructure that your customers could be using to access your site. Without this external viewpoint, your application could be working fine, but other issues could be causing problems, such as: server errors or capacity issues, load balancing issues, or bandwidth problems.
External load testing tests your actual production infrastructure before your site goes live, and provides real world validation that your web applications are ready to go. Testing outlines metrics such as the number of users your site is capable of serving at excellent, good or slow speeds. Load testing can also quantify the customer experience in terms of wait time and error rate. This insight into the length of time it takes for each page to load for different numbers of users provides you with the breaking point at which user experience begins to degrade.
Webmetrics Load Testing is a fully managed solution, so you don’t have to worry about loading or learning new software, scripting, or analyzing your test results. A dedicated engineer helps to assess your system, set up tests, and provide analysis and recommendations. Learn more.
Optimize Your Performance with Performance Analysis Services
Take the performance of your websites, web applications and web services to the next level with Neustar Performance Analysis services. This consultative engagement includes a thorough review of your web infrastructure followed by detailed recommendations designed to achieve substantial, quantifiable gains in performance.
The proliferation and increasing complexity of client-side technologies such as Flash, AJAX, advanced CSS, and others, have pushed the web to be more interactive and intuitive. At the same time these new technologies can potentially result in significant webpage slowdowns. Simple techniques that may get overlooked by web development teams can greatly improve page performance while not impacting the appearance or usability of the website. Our team of web performance experts is able to not only pinpoint potential optimization improvements but can also help you with the process of prioritizing and implementing the recommendations.
During a Performance Analysis we work with you to:
- Make images load faster
