USi partnered with Webmetrics, a privately held
provider of monitoring solutions, to help USi's
e-commerce clients monitor the performance of their applications and provide a
competitive analysis against their top competitors. USi
hosts large-scale e-commerce implementations for platforms such as IBM's
WebSphere Commerce, MarketLive
and BroadVision. The service will be offered
on a complimentary 30-day trial.
From
the mass market to the large enterprise, partnership is the best way for hosters to access the specialized capabilities they need to
bring the full gamut of services to customers. The relationships are typically
win-win and require little investment. We are seeing this develop in the
mass-market space, and it is par for the course in the managed hosting segment,
where customization and management of infrastructure demand technologies and
services outside the scope of a hoster's immediate
area of expertise. Such partnerships also speak to the need for hosters to play an active role in their customers' success.
Managing infrastructure is one thing, but providing the tools to help them
succeed is an important complementary service hosters
must consider.
